شما مي‌توانيد مهر خود را به آن‌ها بدهيد، اما نه انديشه‌هاي خود را،
زيرا كه آن‌ها انديشه‌هاي خود را دارند.
شما مي‌توانيد، تن آن‌ها را در خانه نگاه داريد، اما روحشان را،
زيرا كه روح آن‌ها در خانه فرداست، كه شما را به آن راه نيست، حتي در خواب.
شما مي‌توانيد بكوشيد تا مانند آن‌ها باشيد، اما مكوشيد تا آن‌ها را مانند خود سازيد.
زيرا كه زندگي واپس نمي‌رود و در بند ديروز نمي‌ماند.
شما كماني هستيد كه فرزندانتان مانند تير زنده‌اي از چله آن بيرون مي‌جهد.
كمان‌گير است كه هدف را در مسير نامتناهي مي‌بيند، و اوست كه با قدرت خود شما را خم مي‌كند تا تير او را تيزپر و دوررس به پرواز درآوريد.
بگذاريد كه خم شدن شما در دست كمان‌گير از روي شادي باشد.

زيرا كه او هم به تيري كه مي‌پرد مهر مي‌ورزد و هم به كماني كه در جا مي‌ماند.
